Termtool (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Shopify app operated at termtool.dev. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you install and use Termtool through the Shopify App Store.
Termtool does not require you to create an account. When you install the app, Shopify authorizes us through OAuth and we receive your store domain (for example, my-shop.myshopify.com) and an access token that lets the app operate inside your Shopify admin. For online sessions, Shopify may also share the name, email address, and locale of the logged-in staff member; we store these only as part of the session record needed to keep you signed in.
When you register one of your Shopify apps inside Termtool, we collect the app name and the API scopes it uses. This information is used solely to generate compliance documents tailored to that app's data access patterns.
We generate privacy policies and terms of service based on the scopes you provide. Generated documents are stored with your store's record so you can retrieve and regenerate them.
All billing is handled by Shopify through Shopify's own billing system. We never see or store your credit card or payment details. We retain only your plan level and a Shopify charge identifier to know which features your store has access to.
We record each policy generation (app name, scopes, policy type, and time) to enforce monthly generation limits on the free plan. Standard server logs are produced by our hosting provider as part of operating the service.
Termtool does not collect, access, or store any personal information about your store's customers. The app requests no Shopify API scopes that touch customer data.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
We use the following third-party services to operate Termtool:
Each provider processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy. We select providers that maintain appropriate security certifications and data handling practices.
Termtool implements Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks. A shop-redaction request deletes all data associated with your store, as described above. Customer data requests and customer redaction requests require no action because we hold no customer personal information, and we log their receipt.
You may request a copy of the data we hold about your store, ask us to correct it, or have it deleted at any time by contacting us or simply uninstalling the app. Depending on where you are located, you may have additional rights:
We use encrypted data transmission (TLS), encrypted data at rest, Shopify OAuth for authentication, and HMAC signature verification on all incoming webhooks.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
